THE FEES

When committing to a Residential Agreement at UNSW Village, you are agreeing to pay a number of fees associated with the choice of accommodation you have been offered.

Please read carefully our detailed fee schedule.

First Year Exemption

Domestic students entering their first year of study at UNSW are eligible for First Year Exemption. This means that you can apply and confirm your offer to live at UNSW Village before receiving and accepting an offer from UNSW, with the knowledge that you can terminate your contract with limited liability. Contract Termination Fee

Residential Agreements at the Village are for 52 weeks and it is anticipated that it is every resident's intention to honour that agreement. Unforeseen events do occur that may result in residents wishing to vacate their rooms. Village Administration will help residents find a person to take over their agreement, but until that is done the resident must continue paying weekly fees.

Providing this service comes at a cost and is disruptive to the Village community. A contract termination fee is charged which is equivalent to two weeks occupancy fee, if the termination is subsequent to taking up physical occupancy of a room, or is after the 1st of January.

Residential Agreements signed and subsequently terminated before the 1st of January of the new year, upon agreement with Village Administration, will only incur a one week charge.

* As a prospective 1st year domestic student of the University of New South Wales (UNSW), you do not anticipate receiving an offer from UAC until 20th January 2010. In the event that you do not receive and accept an offer from UNSW to become a student of the University for the 2010 year, you must advise the Village management in writing within 3 working days. You will then be required to leave the Village if you have already taken up residence and acknowledge that you are bound by the Residential Agreement (including the obligation to pay the Residential Fee and other charges) until the Village acknowledges receipt of your written advice, which will be no more than 2 working days after the advice was sent or any later date on which you vacate the apartment.
